Lindsay's Big Heart
Lindsay is preparing for her first ballet solo when she suddenly feels funny and collapses. Through her journey to see what happened, she visits the hospital with her parents and gets a doctor of her own. With the help of newfound friend Kiran, who shares from his own experience, Lindsay learns about blood tests, EKGs, and echocardiograms, unraveling the mystery surrounding her heart condition. It's not so scary after all, but can Lindsay get back to doing her solo?
The Problem
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a heart condition that can start in children and cause a variety of symptoms, including dizziness, chest pain, passing out, or in rare cases sudden cardiac arrest. It's often tough to diagnose, and specialized knowledge and care is needed to keep kids healthy and doing all the things they love.
